  • Demonstrates clinical competence to practice within the Mother/Baby Unit
  • Assists in the management of the day-to-day operations of assigned nursing unit ensuring decisions, actions and group performance; contributes to achievement and continuity of both individual units in the department and hospital s goals and mission
  • Communicates effectively with staff, peers, Director, external and internal customerUtilizes quality improvement as basis to improve unit/departmental process
  • Pursues own professional growth and development
  • Assists in the maintenance of unit readiness for regulatory surveys
  • Assumes accountability for decisions and actions
  • Assists in providing opportunities for employee development

Required: Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program

Preferred: Educational programs in nursing management. Currently enrolled in a program of study obtaining a BSN or BS - Business Administration

Licensure / Certification

Required: Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider

Preferred: ACLS, PALS, and NRP certification
