POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the day to day business operations of the EP/Biplane Lab/Cath Lab/Hybrid OR and the oversight of personnel. This position provides direct patient care and collaborates with other members of the health care delivery team to deliver quality patient care, including assisting in procedures. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the clinical coordinator is responsible for the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the department. The clinical coordinator also collaborates with the Director regarding budgetary and strategic planning opportunities for improvement. The clinical coordinator will assist the Director in providing nursing leadership to the unit and overseeing the clinical operations of the departments. Core Competencies will be assessed in accordance to the units' specific patient population served.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Supply management-supply purchasing and management of inventory, including consignment in accordance with HCA Supply Chain policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with Biomedical Department and service vendors to ensure operation and maintenance of the EP/Biplane Lab/Cath Lab/Hybrid OR equipment.
  • Assist the CVS director in the development of policies and procedures for CVS. Management and accountability of EP/Biplane Lab/Cath lab/hybrid OR equipment.
  • Advises Director on new equipment acquisition to ensure Cardiovascular Services is technologically competitive.
  • Responsible for competencies of the BiPlane Lab/Cath lab personnel including coordination and administration of didactic and hands-on training, teaching and evaluation.
  • Ensures sterile technique and patient safety are maintained.
  • Assists the Director in supervision of the EP/Cath lab/BiPlane Lab personnel.
  • Serves as departmental radiation safety supervisor and ensures hospital radiation safety policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Assists with procedures in the EP/Cath Lab/BiPlane Lab/Hybrid OR to include the delivery of non-narcotic medications to Cath Lab, and Cath Lab medical staff and licensed staff during procedures. This is accomplished as a non-interruptive single task from one point to the other. 
  • Assures daily charges are complete and accurate for both EP/Cath Lab procedures.
  • Assist the director in ICD, Cath PCI, ACC-NCDR data collection and submission.
  • Maintains professional development and license requirements.
  • On call as needed

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support.
  • Registered Nurse

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in specialty.
  • Supervisory experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Bachelor Degree in related field.
  • EP/Cath experience.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
